Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Hercules Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond or handle the request.
Routine Technical Information
Hosting systems may retain ordinary server-log details such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate for site operations and audience trends. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, resolve technical problems, measure traffic, and improve the pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the limited information described here.
Links Beyond This Reference
Pages link to Hercules, Contra Costa County, and California records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Each outside service controls its own privacy practices and terms. That includes the sponsored search results supplied by a third-party company.
Who May Process It
Hosting and support providers may process server logs while they keep the service running. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it, and not for unrelated purposes.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only while the purposes stated above require them. Because the reference has no accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or user profile that could be exposed here.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so the material can be located and deleted.
Your California Privacy Choices
Depending on eligibility, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., provide rights to know or access personal information, request correction or deletion subject to exceptions, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and receive equal treatment for exercising those rights. Global Privacy Control may serve as an opt-out signal where applicable. Because this reference retains little information, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
Public records held by Hercules, Contra Costa County, or California agencies are outside this reference's control. Requests for existing agency records follow the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, and correction or removal questions go to the custodian. California's Safe at Home program, Government Code §§6205-6216, can provide eligible participants with a substitute address and confidential voter registration; it does not automatically erase information that was already public. California's DROP channel addresses registered data brokers, not official deeds, court files, assessment rolls, or licenses.
