Hercules ZIP Code Directory Coverage
Only one standard Hercules ZIP code is verified in the research record. USPS routing lists the postal city as HERCULES CA 94547. The postal unit is useful for delivery and address cleanup, but the table below should not be read as a municipal parcel map or a list of residents. Exact overlap with the incorporated city boundary still requires parcel or address verification.
| ZIP | Areas Covered | Post Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 94547 | Hercules postal city; municipal overlap needs exact parcel or address verification | Hercules Post Office, 1611 Sycamore Ave, (510) 799-3607 | Retail Monday-Friday 9-5, Saturday 10-2; PO boxes 24/7; delivery Monday-Saturday 11 |
The USPS ZIP Code Lookup capture shows the official address-to-ZIP starting point for the verified postal unit.

Use the postal result to correct a delivery label, then switch to land and records systems when the question turns to a person, parcel, title, or historic address.
No official source located a second standard, PO-box-only, or unique Hercules ZIP code. Nearby postal labels should not be added to a Hercules search without checking the exact address.
USPS Fields for Hercules ZIP Code
The USPS lookup separates the parts of a mailing address before it confirms the postal route. Street Address and Apartment, Suite, or Other are the location fields. City and State describe the mailing label. ZIP is optional when the task is to find the ZIP from a complete address, but an entered ZIP can be checked against the result.
| Search field | Type | Required | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Street Address | Text | Yes | Enter the delivery street line |
| Apartment/Suite/Other | Text | When applicable | Keep unit detail separate from the street line |
| City | Text | Yes | Use the city shown for the mailing route |
| State | Selection or text | Yes | Use California for a Hercules address |
| ZIP | Text | Optional for ZIP discovery | Verify a supplied postal code or let USPS find it |
A successful postal match confirms routing. It does not confirm who owns the land, who receives tax mail, who occupies a unit, or which people belong to a household. Those are different record questions with different custodians.
Write the returned city, state, and ZIP exactly as USPS supplies them. Preserve the original street line as well, because an address that looks like a city name may sit outside an assumed city limit, while a parcel can retain its legal description through postal changes.
Find Hercules Residents by ZIP Code
A ZIP code narrows geography, but it does not create a ZIP-wide people portal. A sound search turns the postal result into a parcel identifier and then asks the right custodian for the next record. For a person-focused question, use a permitted identity or record route instead of trying to assemble a private list from scattered clues.
- Enter the complete delivery address in USPS and confirm the returned city, state, and ZIP.
- Search the address or APN in ParcelQuest Lite or CCMAP. Record the APN, situs, parcel boundary, and physical characteristics.
- Use the Assessor counter when an owner name is needed because the free web tools suppress owner names. Keep the roll mailing address distinct from the situs.
- Search RecorderWorks by name, document, date, legal description, or APN. APN deed searching begins with instruments recorded March 3, 1997; older work uses Old Book or map records.
- For a street-level set of parcels, switch to the Hercules by Street directory workflow rather than treating the ZIP as a resident roll.
The sequence is USPS to CCMAP to APN to the recorder or another lawful custodian. It preserves the difference between delivery routing and evidence about a particular person or parcel.
Note: A ZIP result can confirm where mail is routed while leaving ownership, occupancy, and household membership unanswered.
Hercules ZIP Code Boundaries Need Care
Postal boundaries, Census ZCTAs, and incorporated boundaries are related but not interchangeable. The research does not document a Hercules ZIP realignment, annexation postal change, quadrant grid, address-assignment rule, or parcel-number digit meaning. That gap is a reason to verify an exact address, not a reason to infer a line from a map or a neighboring city label.
- ZIP code
- A postal routing unit used to sort and deliver mail. It is not a title boundary.
- ZIP+4
- An extended delivery code that narrows a route beyond the five-digit ZIP. It does not identify a household roster.
- PO-box ZIP
- A postal unit used for box service. No separate Hercules PO-box-only ZIP was verified.
- Unique ZIP
- A ZIP assigned to one high-volume or special address. No unique Hercules ZIP was verified.
- Carrier route
- A delivery path inside a postal system, not a parcel, street, or civic district.
Boundary check. Treat 94547 as routing evidence only. Confirm a disputed city or parcel boundary through the exact address, APN, legal description, or the responsible local office.
The same postal unit can serve addresses with different land records, development eras, or government custodians. A postal match is strongest at the delivery stage and weakest when used as a shortcut to a person's identity.
Hercules Parcels Beyond the ZIP Code
Once USPS confirms the address, Contra Costa Maps & Property Information can move the search from postal routing to a parcel. CCMAP exposes parcel boundaries, APN, assessor maps, assessed values, building square footage, lot size, aerial imagery, contours, and radius selection. ParcelQuest accepts an APN or street address. Vacant parcels may require the APN rather than a street search.
The free county display deliberately removes owner names. The public roll is available at the Assessor counter at 2530 Arnold Drive, Suite 100, Martinez, Monday through Friday 8-4, (925) 313-7400. A printout is $1 per page, characteristics are $7.50 per parcel, a map is $3 plus $2.50 mailing, and staff radius research is $50. County zoning layers are not authoritative inside incorporated Hercules, so use city planning for a city zoning question.
The tax lookup at the Contra Costa Treasurer-Tax Collector can show a secured bill, status, or history by address or APN. It still does not convert a tax mailing destination into proof of occupancy. For title, use the RecorderWorks Official Records Index, where modern named records start January 1, 1986 and deed APN searching starts March 3, 1997.
Recorded subdivision maps, surveys, corner records, annotated assessor books, and superseded pages at the county map archive help bridge a split parcel or a changed postal label. The legal description and lot or block remain the stronger continuity clue when a street address shifts.
Hercules Voter Privacy by ZIP Code
Voter records do not turn 94547 into a public resident directory. California My Voter Status authenticates one voter with first name, last name, date of birth, and at least one identifier. It can return that voter's status, location, party and language preferences, vote-by-mail or provisional status, polling place, and election information. It cannot search another person or everyone in a ZIP.
The Contra Costa Elections office is the local election authority represented in the captured image below.

The office context helps locate the county election channel, but a voter file still requires a permitted purpose. Qualified requesters may apply by mail to the Secretary of State Elections Division. A full file is $15 per 1,000 records with a $100 maximum; a specific voter request is $30 each, up to ten and $100. Processing is 7-14 business days. Personal, private, commercial, solicitation, harassment, public Internet display, and unapproved survey uses are barred. Elections Code sections 2194 and 18109, Government Code section 7924.000, and the related regulations control the release.
Do not infer voter presence from a postal code or treat a missing address as an error. Safe at Home, protected voters, and restricted fields can create intentional gaps.
One Hercules ZIP, Several Eras
Hercules is compact, but its record trail changes by development era. Company-town Hercules Village and the waterfront belong to the powder-works story. Lupine Road, Centex, Lupine Hills, and Ohlone subdivisions date from the mid-1970s. Sycamore, Creekside, Refugio Valley, and Foxboro expanded in the 1980s. Victoria by the Bay and Promenade began in 2003, with Bayside and Baywood arriving later.
A current postal label can therefore sit over very different historical sources. An older name may be found through countywide telephone books, West Contra Costa issues, census schedules, Pinole and Hercules newspaper material, assessor books, or a deed legal description rather than a modern neighborhood term. The ZIP is stable for today's delivery task, but it is not a substitute for the source's year and territory.
That is why a ZIP code directory search should keep the publication date, address form, APN, and record custodian together. A 94547 result gives a useful starting point, not a single historical archive.
Hercules Court Locations by ZIP
A postal unit does not decide where a court case is filed or where its records are collected. The George D. Carroll Courthouse location page identifies the Richmond courthouse used for many western-county criminal, traffic, small-claims, and limited civil matters.

The courthouse image connects the postal search to a real records counter, but the case category still controls access and document availability.
For filing and pickup, use the court's Where to File page rather than guessing from a ZIP code.

Probate, guardianship, and conservatorship route to Martinez; family matters route to Spinetta Family Law Center; juvenile matters route to Walnut Creek. ZIP routing can help clean an address, but it cannot replace the court's case-type instructions.
When ZIP Code Leads to an APN
The most reliable handoff is USPS address to CCMAP parcel to APN to the relevant custodian. RecorderWorks accepts name, document, date, legal description, and APN paths, but its APN deed search covers instruments recorded from March 3, 1997 onward. For earlier material, the Old Book workflow and counter records bridge the online boundary.
A legal description can outlast a postal label. Recorded maps and superseded assessor pages help when a parcel splits or an address changes. A deed, grant deed, or quitclaim can transfer title; a deed of trust or reconveyance generally documents financing and should not be treated as an occupant change.
The ZIP code directory remains useful when it stays in its lane: verify delivery, narrow a place, and then pivot to APN, legal description, court case, or an approved identity record. It does not create a public one-click list of Hercules residents.
Note: Keep postal, parcel, title, and person evidence in separate fields so a correct ZIP does not carry more meaning than it can support.
